RockResorts, a subsidiary of Vail Resorts, announces the appointments of general managers at its properties in Aspen, Colorado and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Brendan Carlin is the new general manager of Hotel Jerome, and Ed Towfighnia takes the reigns as general manager of La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa.

Most recently, Brendan Carlin spent more than five years as general manager of The Mosaic Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. During his time at the property, Carlin managed all aspects of hotel and restaurant operations as well as marketing, sales and public relations. Prior to The Mosaic Hotel, Carlin gained managerial experience at Ritz-Carlton hotels in Sarasota, Florida; Rancho Mirage, California; and Kapalua, Hawaii. He began his career at the Westin Maui, followed by three years at the Maui InterContinental Resort.

Ed Towfighnia, a 35-year veteran of the hospitality industry, most recently served as a member of the management task force for The Arrabelle at Vail Square, A RockResort that opened last January. Prior to joining RockResorts, he was general manager at the Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Previously, Towfighnia held management positions at numerous Hyatt and Marriott resorts in locations including New Orleans, Boston, Denver, Chicago and Hong Kong.

"We are excited to welcome Brendan and Ed to our RockResorts leadership team," said Stan Brown, president of Vail Resorts Lodging Division. "Their extensive management, expertise and experience in the hospitality industry will be instrumental in elevating the luxury experience for guests staying at these two renowned properties."

Hotel Jerome, Aspen's crown jewel since 1889, is more than a place to stay; it is a place to experience. Surrounded by the magnificence of the Rocky Mountains in the heart of Aspen, the Jerome offers an elegant and relaxed ambiance, impeccable service, unsurpassed accommodations and exquisite dining in two award-winning restaurants. Favorite of locals and guests alike, the celebrated J-Bar offers lively spots for mingling. Each of the 92 richly appointed guestrooms and spacious suites provide a haven of comfort and sophistication. The hotel embodies the philosophy of Aspen – a balance of body, mind and spirit. It is often said, "If you haven't been to the Jerome, you haven't been to Aspen."

Set on six beautifully landscaped acres, La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa, A RockResort, is located in the heart of Santa Fe, New Mexico, just blocks from the historic Plaza and art galleries. The pueblo-style village resort's $6.5 million renovation was completed in July 2008, and invites travelers to experience the revamped, sophisticated Southwest design and updated luxury amenities. The extensive redesign enhanced all 157 guest rooms including 30 signature suites, public spaces, the RockResorts Spa™, the historic Staab House and dining venues. The resort features an art program in which an original collection of artwork, photography and statues supplied by local galleries are on display throughout the property.
