Experienced Hotelier Javier Cano To Serve As Gm Of The Ritz-Carlton, LA At L.A. Live

Javier Cano, a career hotelier with more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, has been named General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles, the boutique hotel which will be an integral part of the highly touted L.A. Live project in the heart of the city’s rapidly revitalizing downtown.

Announcing his appointment, Simon F. Cooper, president and chief operating officer of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, called Cano “the right person for this very exciting opportunity to bring vitality and new economic development to a section of Los Angeles in need of luxury accommodations. He has worked in the Los Angeles area for many years and understands and appreciates all the city has to offer the business and leisure traveler.”

In addition to his responsibilities as General Manager of the 123-room Ritz-Carlton, Los Angeles, Cano will also oversee Ritz-Carlton’s 224 private condominiums and the 878-room J.W. Marriott Hotel, which will serve as The Los Angeles Convention Center’s headquarters hotel. The luxurious Ritz-Carlton component offers guests an intimate, boutique style hotel with spacious rooms, panoramic views, and all the comforts of a five star caliber property.

The hotel will occupy floors 22 through 26 of the iconic building and feature a 3,400 square foot Club Lounge on the 23rd floor. The rooftop will provide a relaxing retreat and lounge for its guests from the city below with an outdoor swimming pool and terrace that offer panoramic views of downtown. The restaurant design will feature the finest culinary offerings in a spectacular setting complimenting the vistas of Southern California.

Cano’s most recent assignment was General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, a AAA five diamond resort on the Hawaiian island of Maui. Prior to joining The Ritz-Carlton, Cano served as area general manager for the Los Angeles Airport Marriott Hotel and the General Manager of the Marina Beach Marriott. He was twice recognized as General Manager of the Year for his professional performance and accomplishments.
