Mohegan Sun has promoted Donna Haney to Director of Security.  In her new role, Haney will be responsible for over 400 employees, overseeing all aspects of the department, and evaluating the communication between the security department and other departments throughout the casino.

As a day one employee, Haney started at Mohegan Sun in 1996 as a Security Supervisor where she was responsible for training security officers, yearly evaluations, issuing discipline, guiding fellow officers, ensuring the safety of patrons, employees and safeguarding casino assets. As the years progressed, she worked her way up to Security Manager in 2001.
In 2002, Haney was appointed the position of MTGC Sr. Investigator where she was responsible for performing background checks for commission licenses, tracking down reports, video coverage, interviewing witnesses and scheduling hearings.

As a member of the Mohegan Tribe, Haney has been a volunteer demonstrator at Wigwam since 2005 and currently holds the position as Trustee in the Mohegan Congregational Church Council.

Mohegan Sun is currently in the midst of Project Horizon - a multi-million dollar expansion that calls for a new 922-room hotel, featuring 261 House of Blues-themed rooms and an exclusive members-only House of Blues Foundation Room™. The expansion also includes approximately 115,000 square feet of additional retai l and restaurant space, and a new 64,000 square-foot Casino of the Wind.   Upon full completion in 2010, Project Horizon is expected to add more than 1.4 million square feet to Mohegan Sun's existing structure.

Mohegan Sun, owned by the Mohegan Tribe, is one of the largest, most distinctive and spectacular entertainment, gaming, shopping and meeting destinations in the United States.  Situated on 240 acres along the Thames River in scenic southeastern Connecticut, Mohegan Sun is within easy access of New York, Boston, Hartford and Providence and located 15 minutes from the museums, antique shops and waterfront of Mystic Country.  More information is available by calling 1.888.226.7711 or visiting www.mohegansun.com.
