BOSTON-CAMBRIDGE, MA–-The full-service, all-suite DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Boston - Cambridge announces the completion of a $4M transformation to their 308 suites. Situated at the edge of Cambridge’s innovative and burgeoning bio-tech center, this renovation will introduce a modern suite concept – the Urban Bed – to the Boston market.
“With our location on the Charles River, we love being able to welcome our guests with the very best of Boston and Cambridge and now will be able to offer a highly functional new suite concept," said Beth Osborne, general manager, DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Boston – Cambridge. “As a digital key-enabled hotel, it is exciting to continue to offer innovations in travel accommodations with the launch of the Urban Bed idea in New England.”
Each of the 170 two-room Urban Bed suites will offer travelers a flexible living space with a full-size pull-down bed that can be utilized on demand – easily pulled out when needed for the kids or tucked up and away when you need to just spread out and relax. Unlike a sofa-bed, the Urban Bed does not fold, providing additional guests with the same comfort and restful sleep that you would expect when staying at a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel. These suites also come outfitted with a microwave, fridge and coffeemaker in each living room as well as a separate bedroom with an additional king-size bed.
This two-room, two-bed suite is ideal for a multitude of travelers: colleagues and conventioneers sharing a room on business; friends enjoying a weekend trip in the city; athletes looking for affordable accommodations without sacrificing a good night’s sleep; and families who can appreciate the added living space when the bed is not in use as well as the privacy of a separate bedroom.
In addition, the renovation brings a modern look and feel to the hotel’s other accommodations, including a King Bed guest room with balcony; standard two-room King Suites; and unique two-story Loft King Suites with 768 sq. ft. of living space. The reimagined Presidential Suite boasts 1,275 sq. ft. with an open floor plan and two bedrooms, ideal for a hospitality gathering or intimate client meeting. Interior design firm, Jill Greaves Design, Inc., used a soft-toned, warm palette inspired by the stone facades of historic Boston and the abstract floras of the Boston Public Gardens.
The world-renowned Scullers Jazz Club was also renovated, increasing their capacity to 200-seats per show; offers a raised and expanded stage, state-of-the-art sound and lighting system, tiered seating for improved visibility, and a full dinner menu. Included in the Best International Jazz Clubs list by Downbeat Magazine in 2017, the club hosts world-class musicians live each Thursday through Saturday evenings and special events throughout the week. In addition to receiving a signature, warm DoubleTree Cookie at check-in, all room options include complimentary Wi-Fi, small refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave, an HDTV, a large working desk, plush top linens and deluxe bath products. Other hotel amenities include a 24-hour fitness center, 24-hour business center services, heated indoor pool and whirlpool, 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, casual dining in Boathouse 400 Restaurant for breakfast and dinner; a 24-hour grab and go Made Market Pantry, and a small plate menu and bar in the atrium lounge Fusion. Guests can park their cars in the attached parking garage and take advantage of complimentary shuttle service to popular destinations in downtown Boston and Harvard Square. The hotel relaunched its rooftop bar this summer with signature drinks, small plate menu and breathtaking views of the Charles River, and Boston and Cambridge city skylines.
