WaterWalk Opens Doors In Centennial, Adds Second Location To Portfolio

WICHITA, KS--WaterWalk, Jack DeBoer’s fifth national brand, announced today the opening of its second property at 11400 East Peakview Avenue in Centennial, Colorado. Completing a 12-month build, the 146-room hybrid hotel and apartment concept encompasses two buildings, each four stories, and totals 123,378 square feet on 4.05 acres at Arapahoe and Lima. A ribbon cutting event will be held September 13 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. All media and city officials are invited to attend.

WaterWalk was originally planned as a corporate site but is now the company’s first franchise location to open. MBC Partners, based in Newport Beach, California and led by Rob Mossburg, Bill Booth, and Chris Copps of Corient Venture Partners, agreed to purchase the Centennial property earlier this year and closed upon its opening.

“With the robust growth in the front range and the property’s near-perfect location in the thriving Denver Tech Center and Inverness market area, we felt that having Centennial as the first WaterWalk in MBC’s portfolio was highly desirable,” said Rob Mossburg. “Now that the Centennial property is open for business, we’re looking forward to the construction of our second and third WaterWalk properties in Richardson, Texas and Plano, Texas, scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2017 and first quarter of 2018, respectively. These are markets which we believe to be similarly dynamic.”

WaterWalk combines the space and comfort of apartment living with the services of an upscale hotel. Business travelers staying a few nights to several months for relocations, training, or projects enjoy an added level of comfort and convenience with a fully-equipped modern kitchen, full-size in-room washer and dryer, housekeeping, and customized breakfast options delivered weekly to their suite. Guests also enjoy the onsite fitness center, 300 DirecTV channels, internet, and 24/7 front desk service.

WaterWalk was created by entrepreneur Jack DeBoer, founder of Residence Inn (now Marriott), Candlewood Suites, Value Place/WoodSpring Suites, and Summerfield Suites (now Hyatt House). WaterWalk’s first property in Wichita, Kansas opened in November 2014, stabilized after only six months, has consistently exceeded projections since that time, and is achieving occupancies comparable to those in the multifamily industry.

“The success of our Wichita property along with interest from notable investors such as MBC has created a favorable environment for WaterWalk’s expansion nationwide,” said Jon Wohlfert, president of WaterWalk Management. “Over the next 12 months, the momentum of the brand will be accelerating with land closings, construction starts, and property openings that will include San Antonio as the third WaterWalk to open, followed by Las Colinas, Texas and Overland Park, Kansas.
