Dan Fay, President of Commonwealth Hotels, has announced that Dave Bodette has been hired as General Manager of the new boutique hotel, the ART, located at 12th and Broadway in Denver. Commonwealth Hotels is the operator for the ART, scheduled to open in February of 2015.

Bodette has over three decades of experience in the hospitality industry, including over 20 years in hotel management. He will be responsible for providing the ART's vision of excellence and leading the hotel in achieving the highest standards possible, delivering results that exceed the guest promise. Bodette joins the ART following four years as the hotel manager at the award-winning Viceroy Snowmass, where his responsibilities included the oversight of sales, human resources, engineering, rooms, food and beverage, spa and accounting. Prior to joining The Viceroy, he worked as the Assistant General Manager for the Fairfax at Embassy Row, A Luxury Collection Hotel, in Washington, D.C. His decades-long career also includes management positions at The Ritz-Carlton in Sarasota, Florida, The Ritz-Carlton corporate offices in Chevy Chase, Maryland, both The Ritz-Carlton and The Langham Hotel in Boston, and the Niebaum-Coppola Estate in Napa Valley, California.

"the ART is a ground breaking boutique hotel in need of a superb manager and leader, and David Bodette has the qualities and experience to fulfill that role," Fay said. "I have no doubt that, with David at the helm, the ART will rightfully take its place as a go-to destination hotel in Denver."

the ART, a hotel is being developed by Corporex Colorado LLC and designed by Davis Partnership Architects. The 165-room contemporary boutique hotel will be a key part in the city's cultural-center redevelopment, just blocks south of the new judicial center and the History Colorado center.

The nine-story project also includes 50,000 square feet of office space. Development partners include an investor group led by Lanny Martin, founder of Platte River Equity, and George Thorn, founder of Mile High Leadership Development, who partnered with Corporex to develop the Museum Residences.

"We want to make the ART a place that is integral to the Denver community. When people leave the city, they will remember the hotel," Fay said. "the ART will have what travelers and diners desire - a creative, beautiful, high-end look and feel; wonderful gathering spaces, excellent food, fine service and, of course, art."
