Interstate Hotels & Resorts announces the addition of Leigh Ann Waters as corporate regional director of sales and marketing for Atlanta and surrounding areas. Waters will be responsible for supporting the senior vice president of sales and marketing by overseeing the planning and management of sales, marketing, catering and revenue management efforts. Her portfolio of Ga.-based properties includes The Lodge and Spa at Callaway Gardens, Marriott Macon City Center and the new Hyatt Atlanta Midtown opening July 2013.

As a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology, Waters received a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial management. Prior to teaming up with Interstate Hotels & Resorts, Waters was the corporate director of sales and marketing for Resource Hospitality LLC for two Atlanta area Doubletree by Hilton hotels and the director of sales and marketing for Marcus Hotels and Davidson Hotel and Resorts for the Westin Atlanta Perimeter North.
As the former Georgia chapter president of Meeting Professionals International (MPI), Waters gained recognition by winning the global chapter of the year from MPI, was appointed to the MPI International Brand Strategy Council in 2005 and currently serves as Leadership Advisor to Georgia MPI. She also received the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award in 2009.
