Mary Beth Cutshall, Vice President-Acquisitions & Business Development for Hospitality Ventures Management Group (HVMG), will serve as President of the Atlanta Hospitality Alliance for 2013. The AHA is a non-profit organization founded in 2009 to provide a forum for networking, education and professional development activities for Atlanta-area hotel owners, developers, operators, franchisors, and professional services providers. The AHA also sponsors scholarships to the Cecil B. Day School of Hospitality at the Georgia State University. Cutshall has served on the AHA Board of Directors since the organization’s inception.
“I’m honored to take the lead role in moving AHA forward as the organization continues to add members and play an increasingly important professional development and advocacy role in the Atlanta-area hospitality industry, which is one of the hospitality industry’s largest concentrations of hotel development professionals in the United States,” says Cutshall.
Cutshall is a 26-year veteran of the hospitality industry and one of the leading women in hotel development. She has lectured at the University of South Carolina’s School of Hospitality and on various industry conference panels and is a member of AHLA (American Hotel Lodging Association). Cutshall earned a B.S. in Hotel Administration from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas. She also studied hospitality administration at the Ecole Hoteliere in Lausanne, Switzerland.
HVMG has more than doubled its portfolio since Cutshall became its Vice President, Acquisitions & Business Development, in January 2011. The privately owned hotel ownership and management firm headquartered in Atlanta currently owns and/or operates 41 hotels in 17 states (coast to coast) totaling 7,215 guest rooms. The Atlanta Business Chronicle ranked HVMG among Atlanta’s Top 10 Fastest Growing Private Companies in 2012.
Prior to joining HVMG, Cutshall served as Director of Business Development for Atlanta-based Hotel Equities, where she oversaw a 300% expansion of the company’s portfolio. Previously, she was Corporate Director of Sales and Marketing for Hotel Investors Trust and served Marriott International in various roles.
