The Colonial Inn of Ogunquit, Maine, has begun a $4 million historical renovation. Now under new ownership and management, this landmark property will reopen in May 2013 with completely upgraded facilities and a contemporary guest experience –all while retaining the Victorian charm and Maine hospitality known to its visitors for over 125 years.

“It’s a privilege for me to have the opportunity to restore this hotel to its original glory,” explains Maine resident Joe Delois who acquired the property last spring and chose David Lloyd of the Portland firm Archetype Architects to oversee the transformation. “We’ve worked closely with the National Park Service to ensure that the new interior and exterior fixtures and finishes are true to the style of the original building.”

While lodgings at the Colonial Inn will be comprised of 62 rooms spread throughout four different buildings, the hotel’s Main Inn will be reconfigured and enhanced by taking its previous count of 44 rooms down to 28. The end result will be bigger guest rooms offering more of the comforts of home. Most rooms in the hotel, some with water views – and every room in the Main Inn itself – will boast a king bed, a refrigerator, coffee makers and new furnishings

Guest amenities at the Colonial Inn will be numerous, including ample free parking, a recreation room and entertainment for families, complimentary property-wide Wi-Fi, complimentary continental breakfast, a heated outdoor pool with patio and hot tub, a large lobby, living room and a newly expanded wrap around porch and beautifully landscaped exteriors with inviting green spaces.

Commanding a premier location in the center of Ogunquit Village, halfway between downtown and Perkin’s Cove, the Colonial Inn will serve as a convenient vantage point from which to explore all that Ogunquit has to offer.  A short walk from Marginal Way and the beautiful beaches that have made the area a popular vacation destination, the hotel features a trolley stop out front allowing guests to leave their cars behind while they enjoy the area.

The Colonial Inn is managed by Migis Hotel Group, a Maine-based hotel management company overseeing a collection of hotels and resorts dedicated to creating an unparalleled world of relaxation, recreation, and welcome in extraordinary waterfront settings in Maine.

The Colonial Inn is located at 145 Shore Road, Ogunquit, ME. For more information  or to make a reservation call 207.646.5191 or visit http://www.thecolonialinn.com.
