InterContinental Hong Kong’s Managing Director Jean-Jacques Reibel is delighted to announce that, following the announcement of the winners in the 2013 Michelin Guide to Hong Kong and Macau, InterContinental Hong Kong is the only venue in Hong Kong to have three Michelin star restaurants under one roof.

The hotel’s Michelin star-rated restaurants include SPOON by Alain Ducasse with 2 Michelin stars and both Yan Toh Heen and THE STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill with 1 Michelin star each.

Commenting on the awards, Reibel says, “For THE STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill to receive a Michelin star this year further enhances InterContinental Hong Kong’s position as a destination for truly memorable dining experiences.

“The fact that our restaurant patrons, both locally and internationally, keep returning again and again is the greatest reward. Thanks to our loyal patrons, our hotel has the most successful F&B operation in the city.”

InterContinental Hong Kong’s restaurants, which also include NOBU InterContinental Hong Kong, and the popular Harbourside, are acclaimed for their outstanding cuisine, exemplary service and panoramic views of Victoria Harbour and Hong Kong Island.

SPOON by Alain Ducasse

SPOON by Alain Ducasse first opened in October 2003 at InterContinental Hong Kong, setting a trend of other world famous chefs to set up restaurants in the city. Headed by Executive Chef Philippe Duc, who has worked with Alain Ducasse for over 13 years, the restaurant features contemporary French cuisine inspired by Alain Ducasse, one of the world’s most celebrated chefs.

SPOON by Alain Ducasse is no new comer to awards. The restaurant was named one of the world’s “Hot Tables” on Condé Nast Traveler’s exclusive “Hot List”, one of the “World’s Best Hotel Dining Rooms” by GOURMET Magazine and VOGUE Entertaining & Travel and one of the “10 Great Hotel Restaurants” by HOTELS Magazine. It has also been named one of the “World’s Top 100 Restaurants” by Restaurant Magazine (UK). Miele Guide Asia has also featured SPOON as one of the top restaurants in Asia from 2008 - 2012.

SPOON has been recognized by the prestigious Wine Spectator Magazine (USA) for seven consecutive years with the prestigious “Best of Award of Excellence”.

Yan Toh Heen
Yan Toh Heen is recognised as one of the world's finest Chinese restaurants specialising in fine Cantonese cuisine. It has also been named one of Asia’s top restaurants in the Miele Guide. This year, Yan Toh Heen received a “Best of Award of Excellence” award from Wine Spectator for the second consecutive year, following an “Award of Excellence” in 2010.
Executive Chef Lau Yiu Fai, who has been with the restaurant since it opened in 1984, and his team prepare exquisite Cantonese cuisine, using only the finest and freshest seasonal produce, refined Chinese cooking methods with a creative modern presentation.

The restaurant features an extensive a la carte menu, plus set lunch and dinner menus and special menus showcasing seasonal Cantonese specialties. At lunchtime, guests can enjoy an extensive selection of traditional and innovative dim sum. The a la carte menus also showcase a selection of “ihealth” dishes, which are healthy variations of authentic Cantonese delicacies.

THE STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill

THE STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill is a haven for meat lovers with prime cuts of the world’s finest meat, seared to perfection on Hong Kong’s only charcoal grill. It also has an elaborate salad bar and an eclectic selection of condiments including twelve specially blended mustards and eight exotic rock salts.

STEAK HOUSE Chef Calvin Choi has been with the hotel since 2003, when he joined the opening team at SPOON by Alain Ducasse. Since 2010 he has been heading the kitchen team at THE STEAK HOUSE. Under his helm, THE STEAK HOUSE winebar + grill was named one of the “World’s Top 10 Hotel Restaurants” by HOTELS Magazine (USA) in 2011.

For five consecutive years, THE STEAK HOUSE has received Wine Spectator’s “Best of Award of Excellence”. Its impressive wine cellar features 585 labels and 4,800 bottles that are imported from all corners of the world.
