Today, Hilton Worldwide announced the appointment of Hal Leonard as general manager of Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder and Homewood Suites by Hilton Santa Fe-North. In his new position Leonard will oversee the day-to-day operations of the 395-room golf resort and casino as well as the 79-suite hotel. He will report directly to Area Vice President, Ben Fusco.

“We are very pleased to welcome Hal to his new position at Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder and Homewood Suites by Hilton Santa Fe-North,” said Fusco. “His impressive background in resort management and in the gaming industry is a tremendous asset to this resort.”

Leonard brings with him 17 years of successful senior management leadership skills with Ritz-Carlton, Four Seasons, Hyatt and Harrah’s Entertainment – including 15 years of general manager experience. He also served as a member of executive teams responsible for opening six domestic and three international hotels with Hyatt, Ritz-Carlton and Harrah’s Entertainment.

Prior to this appointment Leonard was the vice president of lodging and property management with Utah’s largest ski resort, Canyons where he oversaw the operations of three properties, Grand Summit Hotel, Silverado Lodge and Sundial Lodge.

Leonard received a Bachelor Degree in Mathematics from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut.

Situated under the picturesque Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Hilton Santa Fe Buffalo Thunder is only 15 minutes from downtown Santa Fe and offers full-service resort facilities with six restaurants, indoor and outdoor pools, a rejuvenating spa, 66,000 sq. ft. of meeting space and the 27-hole championship Towa Golf Club. The resort also boasts an impressive collection of art inspired by the local Native American Pojoaque community.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Santa Fe-North offers one and two bedroom suites with full kitchens and living areas. The hotel’s décor shares the Native American artisanal influence.
