Executives at Real Hospitality Group (RHG), one of the nation’s largest third party hotel management firms, announced the expansion of the portfolio with the scheduled openings, new contracts and construction projects underway at the start of the second half of 2012. Part of the expansion plans for the company, RHG has continued to add talent to service the long term contracts and dedicate the resources to continue development of the current and expanding portfolio base.  The new hotels include the first Hyatt Place in Manhattan, the first Hotel Indigo in Brooklyn, the first Ascend Collection hotel in Flushing, as well as new projects in Seaport and the Financial District in downtown Manhattan.  Additionally, the company is managing its seventh Starwood brand in Long Island City and an independent hotel in Ocean City, MD.

“Our owner relationships have given us the strength to grow the portfolio, and we are dedicating the attention on our team to maintain talent that successfully operate the hotels as we follow our growth plan,” comments Ben Seidel, President and CEO at Real Hospitality Group.  “Depth of experience in the metropolitan New York area plays a critical role in our success with the details surrounding these openings and new contracts.”

The new hotel openings are scheduled for the third quarter. New York City’s first Hyatt Place is set to open in September, with 185 guest rooms and the signature amenities and food service of the brand in Midtown at 36th Street.  The Hotel Indigo Brooklyn, formerly the Hotel 718, recently purchased by the LAM Group, will be opening August 1 with 128 guest rooms and a signature restaurant.  Additionally, the 114 room Hotel de Point in Flushing, NY will be opening August 15.  This complex hosts retail, dining and 30,000 square foot specialty foods grocery along with a 300 seat Asian inspired buffet.  The hotel will open as part of the Ascend Collection.

New hotel contracts include the 88 room Four Points by Sheraton in Long Island City and the 43 room Haven Hotel and Suites in Ocean City, MD.  Currently under construction and targeted for 2014 are the 200 room Fairfield Inn Seaport and the 264 room Four Points by Sheraton Financial District.

“Our services and the resources we offer our owners are suited to accommodating the specific needs of each operation,” comments Seidel.  “RHG was founded on doing things differently and that means a true understanding of each of the assets we operate and bringing a solid performance track record to the table to make each new project successful.”
