Following the successful launch of its wellness gastronomy program in winter 2011, Sofitel Luxury Hotels has announced the expansion of its French-inspired De-Light menus, providing an unparalleled level of convenience and service to Sofitel’s guests.  A gastronomic adventure in healthy eating, new low-calorie menu items will now be introduced in the restaurants, banquet and event options, as well as room service menus of Sofitel properties in Montreal, New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Miami and Minneapolis.

Highlighting the brand’s unique ‘magnifique’ culture, the low-calorie cuisine provides healthful, delicious dining experiences to liven the body and soul. Developed exclusively by Thalassa Sea & Spa, the recognized nutrition and wellness experts in France for over 40 years, De-light reflects the unique skills of Sofitel’s chefs in creating an innovative array of well-balanced, low-calorie meals to help guests meet their lifestyle goals in delicious style. The De-Light menu items place an emphasis on fresh, whole ingredients and highlight the relationship between food and culture.  New menu items include:

• Green-Tea Infused Shrimp (320 Cal per serving) ¬– Inspired by the delicate flavors of shrimp and the full-bodied notes of ginger and horseradish, this dish packs a flavor punch! The dish is finished table-side with an infusion of green tea.
• Creamed Peas with Truffle Essence (104 Cal per serving) – The flavor of fresh spring peas, paired with the full-bodied essence of truffles and a creamy undertone.
• Mint and Berry Compote (68 Cal per serving) – With hints of natural vanilla pods, this guilt-free dessert is created with greek yogurt, and paired with mint, fresh strawberries, raspberries and blackberries.

Further celebrating Sofitel’s emphasis on the gastronomic experience, beginning in fall 2012 guests of Sofitel will be able to learn the chefs’ inventive techniques in creating healthy, satisfying meals, without sacrificing flavor on their own through a series of dedicated De-Light cooking demonstrations.   For more information, please visit www.sofitelde-light.com
