Opening summer 2013, The Reeds is now accepting wedding and private event bookings for September 15, 2013 and beyond.
In her new position, Julie will oversee wedding sales and event bookings for The Reeds’ catering and meeting spaces; and be responsible for all pre-opening activities, key facility features and service models. In addition, Julie will focus on market positioning, menu development, revenue/sales strategy, standard operating policies, service models and hiring/ training as part of The Reeds’ development team. Julie will also introduce The Reeds to prospective accounts and create awareness through site tours, familiarization tours, trade shows and networking opportunities.
“Julie is a seasoned hospitality pro and we’re delighted to have her introduce The Reeds’ boutique brand to brides and event planners,” said Ron Gorodesky, The Reeds at Shelter Haven’s Managing Director. “Julie’s extensive destination resort sales experience will assure that The Reeds has the most qualified sales team to deliver the most dramatic, memorable and distinctive service experience available,” Gorodesky added.
Julie brings more than 12 years of hospitality management to her new position, beginning with the Sands Casino in Atlantic City, NJ in VIP services and fine dining management. In 2001, she assisted with the opening of the Wildwoods Convention Center in the Wildwoods, NJ as catering director. She then joined Cape Resorts Group at Congress Hall Hotel in Cape May, NJ as catering sales manager and was quickly promoted to director of sales as well as serving on the executive board.
Julie is a graduate of the University of Delaware's, Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Management Program, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in hotel management.
