Hawks Cay Resort welcomes new Director of Food and Beverage Kevin Dott and returning Executive Chef Juan Natal to the culinary team of the 60-acre island resort destination. The announcement coincides with the recent launch of the resort’s million dollar renovation to expand its culinary offerings.
“We are thrilled to have the talents of two accomplished professionals leading our culinary team,” said Sheldon Suga, Managing Director. “Both Kevin and Juan bring vast experience and passion to Hawks Cay and they will be instrumental in creating unique dining experiences for our guests at the new additions to the resort as well as our established casual and fine dining options.”
An industry veteran, Dott brings several years of hospitality-related food and beverage experience to the resort. Dott joined the Hawks team from Woodstock Inn and Resort in Vermont where he served as director of food and beverage. He has also held various executive level positions at resorts and restaurants across the United States including West Virginia, New York and Texas. Dott graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science in hospitality management and holds certificates from the Court of Master Sommeliers and the Society of Wine Educators.
The culinary team will be rounded out with Executive Chef Juan Natal, who has returned to Hawks Cay after sharpening his skills at a number of respected hotel and restaurant names in the United States and Caribbean including Loews Miami Beach, Ritz Carlton Coconut Grove in Miami and Capital Hilton in Washington D.C. as well as Novo Restaurant in Puerto Rico and Pienza Italian Market at the Gaylord National Hotel in Maryland. Natal has been honored with numerous awards including Best New Chef in Puerto Rico in 2004 and the bronze award for Best New Restaurant in Puerto Rico. Natal holds a culinary degree from Johnson and Wales University in Miami.
