As the summer season gets into full swing, officials with Nautical Beachfront Resort, Arizona’s only beachfront resort hotel, unveiled new menus for its popular Turtle Grill restaurant and Turtle Beach Bar showcasing the culinary skills of executive chef John Andreola, who recently took over the kitchens of the popular vacation spot.
Andreola joined Nautical Beachfront Resort from the Sheraton Atlantic Beach resort in Atlantic Beach, North Carolina.
“With 13 years at the Atlantic Beach, John is expert in satisfying the appetites of hungry vacationers,” noted Hal Barnes, general manager of The Nautical Beachfront Resort. “We set out to offer something that is simultaneously familiar, but reflects the changing sensibilities of the American consumer. Our new menus strike all of the right notes; a contemporary menu for the Turtle Grill and casual fare with a few new and trending items for the Turtle Beach Bar and at our infinity pool, WET. The menu tested extremely well with our Lake Havasu neighbors while it was in development, so we’re confident that our guests will be very pleased. We intend to continue to solicit guest feedback and make adjustments until we achieve our ultimate goal of satisfying every guest every time. ”
“People come to Lake Havasu to kick back and relax, but they still appreciate a good meal, particularly when they’re on vacation,” said Andreola. “We took that basic premise of combining top quality food and an unpretentious environment and then sought out sustainably produced, regionally raised ingredients to support that vision. We didn’t overlook anyone in the family and have created a menu that appeals to every age group from toddlers to grand-parents.”
The Nautical Beachfront Resort restaurants are the first in Lake Havasu to serve American style Kobe (Wagyu) beef burgers from Snake River Farms in Idaho http://www.snakeriverfarms.com/ and Kobe steaks, including an 16-ounce herb roasted prime rib with bourbon sautéed mushrooms and red onions from the Double R Ranch in the Okanagan region of Washington State http://www.doublerranchbeef.com.
“Many of our guests are accustomed to premium, U.S. raised beef, but until now, it hasn’t been available in Lake Havasu,” added Andreola. “I think this is the kind of quality differentiator that our guests will appreciate. Couple that quality product with the best lake view in the state and you have the ingredients for a very memorable experience.”
In addition to a variety of Kobe-style burgers and simply prepared, but creatively accented steaks, like a pan seared filet served with fire roasted jalapeno hollandaise, chef Andreola’s menu also features grilled fish, including bourbon barrel ginger glazed grilled coho salmon and lighter fare with a southwestern and Asian accents. The resort’s pizza menu also received an upgrade with the addition of the new ‘Desert Storm Pizza,’ a combination of white sauce, bacon and Canadian-style bacon covered in mozzarella cheese. Once baked, the pizza is topped with crisp shredded lettuce and fresh diced tomatoes.
At the beach and around the pool, guests will enjoy the simple pleasure of a Snake River Farms all beef hotdog, hot wings nautical style with a hot berry glaze, or mahi fish tacos and homemade potato chips with sea salt for snacking.
