Maybourne Hotel Group, London’s leading owner and operator of renowned luxury hotels Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley, is delighted to announce the appointment of Justin Pinchbeck as General Manager of The Berkeley in Knightsbridge. His new role as General Manager will officially commence this summer on 23rd July 2012.

Pinchbeck joins The Berkeley from Lime Wood, a 5-star country house where he served as Hotel Director since 2009, opening the property to great success and accolades. Under his direction, Pinchbeck lead the team to establish Lime Wood as a market leader in its segment as well as one of the finest country hotels in the United Kingdom. Prior to joining Lime Wood, Justin spent nine years at some of London’s most prestigious properties including The Zetter Hotel in Clerkenwell and Firmdale Hotels. Under his guidance, The Zetter Hotel achieved a 90% occupancy while also running ahead of budgeted profit through his targeted initiatives. Furthermore, it was under Pinchbeck that the hotel won significant awards including Condé Nast Traveller’s World’s Coolest New Hotel and was the recipient of three European Design hotel awards.

Having started his career at Grosvenor House in London nearly twenty years ago, where he climbed the ranks through a range of divisions and operations, Pinchbeck brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position, particularly in the London market.

Commenting on the appointment, Stephen Alden, CEO of Maybourne Hotel Group, said: ‘Justin is a respected innovator and an accomplished hotelier with deep knowledge and expertise in luxury hospitality. He brings an energetic and fresh approach to hotel management, as well as a unique understanding of luxury in both product and service. We are delighted to welcome him to the team.’

Justin Pinchbeck comments: ‘I am truly honored to be appointed General Manager at one of London’s most celebrated hotels. The Berkeley is the gem of Knightsbridge and I’ve long admired the hotel, its exceptional reputation and unparalleled guest experience. I look forward to joining this incredibly talented team and further establishing The Berkeley as one of London’s premier addresses.’

Born in the United Kingdom, Pinchbeck received his Diploma in Hotel & Catering & Institutional Management Operations from Oxford College of Further Education.
