Le Méridien Bora Bora has announced the appointment of David Enkaoua as Food & Beverage Director. No stranger to French Polynesia, David's decade-long hospitality career has taken him around the world including a previous turn in the South Seas as Maître d'Hôtel of Le Carré restaurant at Le Méridien Tahiti. Now he oversees all dining operations at Le Méridien Bora Bora including Le Tiaré, Le Tipanié and Te Ava restaurants and the Miki Miki Bar, as well as in-room dining, banqueting and special events.

"David brings impressive experience and a flair for culinary creativity to the resort and we're thrilled to welcome him back to French Polynesia," said Denis Le Nohaïc, General Manager of Le Méridien Bora Bora.

David arrived at Le Méridien Bora Bora from the five-star Sheraton Club des Pins Resort in Staoueli, Algeria, where he served as F&B Manager overseeing a $12 million operation that served 280,000 covers annually. Along the way he created successful events including jazz and salsa festivals and launched a resort retail shop specializing in fine wines.

Previously, David was the opening F&B Manager of Novotel Le Havre in Bassin Vauban, France, and a Restaurant Manager at Lemuria Resort, a Relais & Chateaux address in Praslin, Seychelles.

David got his start in hospitality in 1993 as Head Sommelier at L'Auberge de Provence in the St. James Court Hotel London. He also worked for The Pelican Group in the U.K. as an Assistant Manager for the franchised brand Café Rouge, and then for Disney Cruise Lines as Sommelier, Bar Supervisor and Assistant Bar Manager. In 2001 he became Maitre d'hôtel and Restaurant Manager at Le Méridien Tahiti. Over his three years at Le Méridien Tahiti, he oversaw the opening of the fine dining Le Carré restaurant and managed notable events such as the weekly Jazz @ Le Méridien Festival, the Te Ahi Nui International Fire Dance Festival, and the Mister Tahiti contests.

Fluent in French and English, David studied at Lycée Viticole in Beaune and in Macon Davayé, France. He enjoys scuba diving, golf, photography and music.

About Le Méridien Bora Bora
Set on the "Pearl of the Pacific," Le Méridien Bora Bora is located on a six-mile-long "motu" islet, facing Otemanu Mountain, within one of the most beautiful lagoons in the world. The hotel has 99 bungalows including 4 lagoon bungalows, 14 beach bungalows, and 81 over-water bungalows - the last featuring glass flooring for stunning views of marine life frolicking in the clear blue sea below. Tipanié restaurant is among the best gourmet dining venues in Bora Bora; Te Ava is a lovely setting for romantic lunches and relaxed dinners on the beach; and the Miki Miki bar resembles the prow of a ship headed for Mount Otemanu. Le Méridien Bora Bora's turtle sanctuary is a private lagoon that is home to more than 100 species; the resort is active in environmental efforts to protect marine turtles, which guests can experience on-site in their natural habitat. Watersports equipment is available, along with the Kaïnalu Canoë Club and a kid's club. www.borabora.leMéridien.com

About Le Méridien Hotels & Resorts
Le Méridien, the Paris-born hotel brand currently represented by 100 properties in 50 countries, was acquired by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT) in November 2005.  With close to 80 of its properties located in Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific, Le Méridien provided a strong international complement to Starwood's then primarily North American holdings at the time of purchase. Since then, Le Méridien has gone through a brand re-launch, which included a large scale hotels product consolidation as well as redefining its brand strategy. By appointing a full-time Cultural Curator - French arts-provocateur Jérôme Sans - Le Méridien transformed numerous guest touch points, thus bringing unique and interactive experiences to its guests. Plans call for dynamic expansion of Le Méridien Hotels and Resorts within the next five years, concentrating in the U.S., Latin America, and Asia-Pacific markets, including destinations such as India, Thailand and China. Le Méridien recently opened new hotels in Arlington (VA), Istanbul, Coimbatore (India), Koh Samui (Thailand), and Taipei, and will open in the next 12 months in Bali, Zhengzhou (China), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), and Suvarnabhumi (Thailand).  For more information, please visit www.lemeridien.com.
